A Virtual Event on Friday, September 10th at 7PM
The American Cancer Society and the Hope Gala Executive Committee is committed to the well-being of cancer patients and caregivers who are central to our mission. Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic we have decided to produce our second Hope Gala virtual live event on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 7PM. This is the only way to assure the safety of our attendees, staff, and volunteers.
We are proud to honor Mary Bentley LaMar, 34th North Atlantic Regional Director of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and founder of the Sickle Cell Association of New Jersey, with the Hope Award.
The American Cancer Society is working every day to advance research, deliver lifesaving programs and services, and ensure continued public discussion about the important issues in cancer. We have contributed to great progress in the fight against cancer. Our work has helped lead to a 31% decline in the US cancer death rate since 1991, and 2.2% in the last year resulting in 3.2 million fewer deaths during that time. We must protect the interests of our patients and researchers.
We need your support to attack cancer from every angle. Cancer doesn't quit… and neither will the American Cancer Society.

For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
